BØLGEN Du har fundet den hemmelige part !!!! (We are sorry that Estrup wasn't able to paint a waveanimation but he prefers making graphics for musicdisks...... Du kan eventuelt bølge selv). Phew !!!! After 10 months of more or less hard work we can finally present you this funny (?) production. Thanks a lot to the following people to be so stupid to spend time on this game: Slam of Melon for systematically testing (netværk ?) Tusind tak til Tommy Yougi for søvnløs testning samt uvurderligt udlån af computer med harddisk (also from me! -Estrup) Quackbusted of Static Bytes for jumping around in the game without much sense and making the Humphy posters. We used a lot of time to find the testers. One important thing was that they were from moderate to very unintellegent. Therefore it actually wasn't so hard to find the first tester, Quackbuster/STB... But of course we must also thank people for having confidence to this special project (excl. Luftgå, he, he...) Without the following things this would maybe never have been made (good or bad ?): Heineken - Naked Gun 1-.... - Bleed 1-2 - our sick minds - Cybersonik's dad's Volvo - summerholidays - Cannonball Run - Leslie Nielsen - Blade Runner soundtrack (again and again...) - Coca Cola (NOT Pepsi !) - Police Squad (in color) - HUMPHreY Boggard - CygnusÆd, DeluxePaintIV, Trask'm-En etc.... Some of you might be able to see that this game looks quite a bit like the "Bleed" games from Dual Crew. We won't deny that we got more than a bit inspired by it (but who cares as long as you have fun ?....). The only reason why this isn't called "Bleed 3" is that we couldn't afford to buy the rights. But good luck to GNN/Dual Crew with "Bleed 3" anyway....... This game was first ment as the unofficial the last production from CULT (which died last spring but later reborned in Germany) since it, when Cybersonik and Mount started on it in August, was to be made by ex.CULT members only. But after some time, Gizmo/Skid Row(?) realised he didn't have time to code it anyway. So we asked Estrup who luckily (?) said yes. The game was ment to be released at The Party 1992 but Estrup didn't have time to finish the code since he worked on the Eurochart and certain musicdisk aswell. It was actually not so bad that the game wasn't released in Aars since we later found quite a lot of bugs in this 300 kb nightmare of a text. The release place was now The Gathering '93 where Estrup worked "hard" to finish it. But ooops, a strange bug forced "Mr. Compatibility" himself in knees so he had to take the game with him home to take a closer look. But now in the last days of July HUMPHY is finally released! If you want to get in contact with one of the producers to give us your opinion or donations of any kind (rolig nu !) then write to: Niels "Cybersonik" Goossens, PoBox 611, NL-7300 AP-Apeldoorn Tage "Mount" Majland, Kollegiebakken 9/3115, DK-2800 Lyngby Timm "Chromag" Albers, Sauerlandsstraße 49, D-4460 Nordhorn Send A4000's (troede du...) to: Christian "Estrup" Estrup, Tornevangsvej 5 B, DK-3460 Birkerød Yep, this game was produced by people from 3 countries but let it be spread and enjoyed all over the world ! Parasitterne * Niels "Hiccup" Goossens * Arne * Mygge * Peter "Pindis" Nielsen * Christian "stud.profit" Estrup * Timm "LCybersonik's adition to the secret part of that wonderful game Humphy. As it is now my turn to talk to you, I think it isn't fit to suit you with non-stop greetingslists and all that, because the writers who have spoilt your mood before me might have done that already. I just want to thank everybody who worked on this fantastic game, first of all Bjerg of course, closely followed by that incredible coder Estrup and wonderful sounder Chromag. Surely it would surprise you when I told you that I have talked to neither of the three in at least some months, while they still want me to write this: odd. My feelings towards the scene are not that good anymore, and they might have found that out (and forgotten about me). But why should I bore you with filosofical things like that? There's a great game to enjoy, written by Mount and me in the time that we were having fun at his place in Ejer Baunehøj, Danmark. And besides, I am quite sure that you will never read this, as I sent this back to Estrup far too late to get it in the game, which should be released at the Gathering II (no, you just made it Cybbie, ed). So that closes the circle, I am writing this for nothing and you aren't reading it. Isn't life fantastic? I could conclude now, but then this is a bit too short. Besides, I have nothing to do at the moment (except for vacuming my room, but I hate that!). Perhaps you will be interested when I tell you that I am the new main editor to McDisk? Must be! You will notice the differences in some time (new code, new design!). And of course you will be able to enjoy a new sort of cooperation between RAW and McDisk, we try to be each other's components instead of opponents. You'll find out what I mean when you can get your hands on McDisk 7 or 8. So, the last remaining question which I'll answer for you before leaving, is 'what is life all about?'. Simple, that one. I don't understand why so many philosophers have thought about it but never came to a conclusion. Life is about life itself: in the true meaning of life you can find the reason why we live at all. We live, because we live. That's all and that's that: there is no deeper meaning. Why looking for a thing of which you are sure it doesn't exist? I mean God, for example? Why believe in God when your brain doesn't allow you to do so? Why believe in life on Mars when your brain tells you it is impossible? Don't believe what some third-class New Age scientists tell you, they are just telling what their opinion is. The essence of it all is that you can only find out the real truth by asking yourself what the meaning of life would be when it was SURE that there was a heaven. Because when you KNOW that there's a heaven, what's the meaning of life? Nothing! Then everybody would want to go to heaven instead. And when you KNEW there was a hell, what would be the meaning of life? Because everybody then knew that they would go to the hell eventually, and thus life would become untollerable. It's not safe nor sound for human beings to learn what the idea behind our lives is. It can only become worse than it is, in both ways. Phew! Cybersonik of Alcatraz Hi there, here's Chromag of Dual Crew and Shining, giving you some information about the music I did for this excellent game ... The main theme of the adventure takes 243 kb and approx. 8:30 minutes to listen at and was composed in a period of some three months, because a CERTAIN artist forced me to improve it for several times... Mostly all samples were taken from my Roland U-20 Keyboard, while some samples also had to be stolen from other musicians (I apologize, hehe). The secretpart music is a little bit shorter (both duration and bytes) and was finished in about a few hours with samples from my little brother's synthie (Fisher Price X-21), anyway it's called Rodgrod med flode...Delicious! If you are one of those weird people who can't get enough of text adventures, Dual Crew and Shining will soon present you something worth to watch out for with baited breath (...) Brad Nixon's cult Bleed adventure will soon continue!!! (...MOST probably that is at least) For the end I'd like to say hello to all my friends: Heeellllloooo ?!
