Parasite
Parasite was an exclusively Danish group, originally founded by Dino and Peter in 1992. According to Sledge Hammer #10, they were soon joined by several members from Cult, Rednex, Palace, T.E.K., Illusions, Kefrens & Quartz. Among them was the highly prolific swapper Speedy, who released more than 50 issues of his pack series Fuck Her Brains Out as a Parasite member.
In June 1992, a preview of Shayera’s PST Tracker was released, and one month later they won the fast intro competition at the Hurricane & Brutal Summer Party in Samsø, Denmark. At the Pressure Point Meeting in October, they released the music disk Imperial Tunes, which they themselves considered the first official Parasite release.
At The Party II, they released the promising demo Zyclonium, which surprisingly only placed 16th in the competition. Nevertheless, everything seemed to be going well until musician Slide joined Polka Brothers in December 1993 — initially as a dual member, and later full-time. Soon Gargoyle, Easley, Mount and Pixie followed him. Speedy started a new group called Speedy as a side project, but eventually changed his handle to Steffen and left Parasite to focus entirely on his new group.
The loss of several key members led founder Dino to leave and declare the group dead sometime in mid-1994. Steffen later attempted to revive Parasite, but without success.
