Interview
Well, I suppose everyone knows this guy. Well, if you are out deep let me tell ya. He is maybe better known as Sunjohn/ANARCHY. Well, he quit the scene for a while, but now his back, but now he call himself Hannibal (his middlename). He made some cool demos like GLOBAL TRASH for SILENTS and 3D-demo for ANARCHY.
MagBox: Well, for not so long ago you left the scene to make games (and money), but why?
Hannibal: Well, as you said yourself I wanted to make a game and from that some money, but I was pretty tired of the scene as well. No special demos with cool ideas was released, and the scene was therefor quite booooring!!!
MagBox: I see, but what made you come back?
Hannibal: Well, there were coming more cool demos from many groups and myself had some cool ideas for demos (and I still do, soeeeh!).
MagBox: What ever happen to the game then?
Hannibal: Well, you saw the preview when we meet for some time ago, right?
MagBox: Yeah right!
Hannibal: Well, that's how far I made it I really didn't have any graphics for it and my own graphical talent is near 0, or even below...
MagBox: Yeah I know! Anyway, what can we expect to see from you in the future?
Hannibal: A demo... (Well, that's an answer that is understood.-Ed)
MagBox: Well, how do you like being in ANARCHY? And WHY?
Hannibal: Well, I enjoy ANARCHY a lot, specially because we all talk so good with eachother and because all members are active and at the same time very talented (No false modisty now budy!-Ed)...
MagBox: Just how come that it took 48 years of hard work to finish the 3D-demo?
Hannibal: Hmmm, you must remember that it was 48 MANYEARS, and as we were 3 persons that's 16 each...
MagBox: But HEY! As Amiga first was invented for maybe 7 years ago you couldn't possibly have used 16 years anyway!!!
Hannibal: Ofcourse we could, we allready had the ideas before we ever had computers so we all had some time to think...
MagBox: And since you were just 18 that must mean that you began to figure out the demo when you were 2 years old right?!
Hannibal: Well ofcourse!!! (#@!@%@%$#!-Ed)
MagBox: Hmmm, I read in an interview with you in RAW that you didn't like the music in the 3D-demo, is that really true??!!
Hannibal: Noooo, I was bulling the guy off! Well, I really ment that Mad Freak was a lazy musician that almost never put himself together, I really love the music in the 3D-demo, but still "Mad Freak" is to lazy, but anyway I would consider him as one of the best computermusicians in Europe at the moment I have heard some unreleased tunes from him that is really amazing...
MagBox: How do you normally get your ideas for your demos?
Hannibal: Well, I mostly get them when going to school. I have travel 1 hour to get there, so I have a lot of time to just sit and think. Apart from that I also get ideas when I'm on the Toilet (WHAT!?!-Ed), sleeping or lying in the sun.
MagBox: Hmmmm.... What's your favorite demo at this time?
Hannibal: I think HARDWIRED from SILENTS-CRIONICS is a very cool demo with some really cool and crazy ideas, but I also like GUARDIAN DRAGON II from KEFRENS a lot...
MagBox: Who would you consider to be the best coder in the scene at the moment?
Hannibal: Well, ofcourse THE SPY/CRIONICS is a very cool coder with nice ideas, but also CHAOS/SANITY is a very cool coder with some cool ideas. I have seen some things which are to be used in his next demo and it's really stunning...
MagBox: Like in OPTIMUM FUCKUP?
Hannibal: Nooo, the routines in that one is real easy and I could do them quite easy, actually I have done them for quite some time ago, but never released it...
MagBox: Which is your favorite group at the monent except ANARCHY?
Hannibal: Well, I think SILENTS is a very cool group, generally because of Mikael Balle and Sionic who are both very skilled graphicians and then Jesper Kyd who is really a nice musician...
MagBox: How long time did you spend in thescene and in which groups?
Hannibal: Well, I started in STATIC BYTES when they still were quite unknown, there I made some demos. Actually I was in STB for about 4 years. Well, then I went on to REBELS where I spend some time, then I went on to SILENTS where I made GLOBAL TRASH and then finally ANARCHY as you know.
MagBox: Did you have any computer before your Amiga or what?
Hannibal: Well, me and my brother got a C-64, but at that time I was 10 years old at that time so I had no real codingability (Do you have now...HeHe!-Ed) at that time, so I only played games. I have had my Amiga for 4 years or something like that...
MagBox: What kind of equipment do you own by now?
Hannibal: Well, I have an Amiga 500+ with harddisk and 2 megs of chipram and then some other stuff for the Amiga. Then I have a PC which is quite cool to own (sorry Hannibal, I know that you explained more at that moment, but I was distracted so I missed the details! -Wolfman). Well, furthermore we have quite a lot of computers in this family! My brother, mother and father all have a PC each and my mum is getting computers in her firm so the entire family is quite computerrelated.
MagBox: What would you consider to be the ultimative group? A kind of dream-group for you...
Hannibal: Well, a group living in the same town would be cool. There should be maybe 10-15 members and ofcourse all active and skilled members. Two of them should be swappers, but not just swappers that swapped, but also supplied the other members with new stuff, that's really a thing I have been missing a lot cuz I was always behind with the demos, but I got a deal with The Pride and he supplied me for some time. Then I didn't receive much from him lately (Hey Pride you still have some disks of mine!!), but now Trix/ANARCHY is sending the new things to me so I can't complain...
MagBox: how long do you spend with your computer at this time?
Hannibal: Well, I have holidays so I sometimes spend 6-7 hours a day, but I have work as well, so it's not that much anyway...
MagBox: What do you spend your time with besides computing?
Hannibal: Well, I work ofcourse! Then I booze, girls (?) (most booze sadly enough).
MagBox: What's would you consider to be the meaning of life on the scene?
Hannibal: Is there a meaning?
MagBox: Hmm, you're right about that. Is there someone in the scene you really hate and dislike?
Hannibal: Hmm, I don't know. Well, yes the asshole who pressed the firealarmbutton at THE PARTY '91, I don't know who it is, but anyway I don't like the sucker...
MagBox: What do you plan to do when your education is finished?
Hannibal: Well, I still have a year left in HH (Buisness highschool) and after that I will maybe go to England for a year to make some games and money. After that I would go home and continue to study. My education is far from finished, I keep on going where most people stop and get a normal job. (HEY! Cool rime you made there!-ed) By the time I finish my education I will have many points which will make it easyer for me to get good jobs...
MagBox: Well, I think it would be a cool idea to quitely end this conversation, do you have something special to say?
Hannibal: Well yes, if any gamecompany is interested in contacting me for serious reasons they should write at this address: Søren Hannibal, Vigvej 26, 4840 Nørre Alslev, Denmark. But PLEEEEEEEASE! DO NOT send to me for swapping games or something shitty like that. I WONT write you back!!!!
MagBox: Well, I guess this is the end, see ya later mate...
Hannibal: Bye....
