Yo, dear readers, just let me use this occasion to write something down about the SCOOPEX CeBIT'93 party and what happened there. The party place Well, the party was held in the 'slums' of the german town Hannover in a small hall. Entrance fee was 10 german marks. On the party you could also buy drinks, but the prices were horrible. No computers were present in this room, but there was a second one up-stairs, where all of those addicted freaks could build up their machines and copy all the latest stuff or just to nerve the others by playing tekkno extremly loud (Salute Plauze!!!, hehehe). The video and audio equipment used was just ridiculous. A small projector and an even smaller audio systems was all the organisers had build up. The wall the demos were projected on was real shit, because the organisers used some kind of a plastic background and whenever somebody opened the door beside this wall, the whole background moved like a flag and all the demoes looked like flexy vectors !!! WOW !!! One of the worst things were the 2 synthie lamers, who played so bad, that a lot of freaks tried to escape as fast as possible (me, too!!!). The competitions The competition systems were just shit. All the participating demoes had been selected by a private jury before and so not all of the demoes were shown to the audience. The intro compo was won by ALCATRAZ, who released a really cool intro. The demo compo was won by UDO, 2nd was TRSI and 3rd was SANITY. The places were choosen by the freaks, who had to applause for the demoes. The louder the applause the better the rank. LAME!!! Don't ask me about the sfx & gfx competitions. I was not present, when they were running. Total control!? Well, as some of you probably know, this party was sponsored by COMMODORE, who also supplied the party organisers with some hardware for the winners of the competitions. The negative point beside this was, that all the freaks had to follow hard rules on the Expo before. So, no tags or stickers were allowed at the COMMODORE stand. Everybody who broke these rules could not enter the party. Total control??? Well, at the end I just wanna tell you, that this was the LAMEST party I have ever been to. Nearly all the time I stayed outside chatting with some friends of mine. Simply all events of this party were just shit. Even the power failure did not shock anybody, because everybody had expected it (hehehe)!!! Some of the better German groups present there were: AF - TRSI - ESSENCE - WIZZCAT - COMPLEX - SANITY - PARADISE - INFECT and some old ones like TARKUS TEAM and BEERMACHT. So, that's all. Just stay cool and wait for better times (and parties ......)
