The Revenge of Packman

Yabbbaadabadooo!!!     Hello and welcome to Zine #9 Headlines or 'The Revenge Of Pacman'. As always let's have a look at the creators of this demo. Opcodes were put together in the right order by --- ORLANDO ---    The logo and the decrunch pic were painted by --- OLI --- ( Contact him at: Oliver Walthard, Batastrasse 31, 4313 Moehlin, Switzerland - only with disksss -)  The pixels of the charset were placed by --- CHESTER ---   The pacmans were drawn by --- PATSY ---   and the patterns of the music were edited by --- KAKTUS OF NORTHSTAR (I LOVE this sound!!!) ---  and the as always long scroll-text was written by no one else than Orlando... First of all I want to anounce a little sensation... Rumours are going around, that a girl joined Brainstorm. And if you read the credits you may have realized, that it aren't rumours, it's reality. Her name is Patsy and she makes extraordinaire graphics. (she is responsible for the pacmans running around!). Read the exclusive story about her in Zine #9. The demo you're looking at was mostly coded on a boring Friday afternoon and evening. And today it's Saturday and I'm writing scroll-text without having included the scroll-routine. (!!!) Well, Zine #9 is going to be published in March 91 (!). A lot of other magazines improved their code, but we didn't. But issue #10 is coming soon and we'll see what will change for this issue. Just watch out for the official Zine #10 Headlines. Some technical informations about this demo. The Zine logo you see rotating was programmed in a totally new way! It aren't vectors, but I've found a new chip under the F8 key on my Amiga 1000! The chip can be programmed by accessing the addresses from  to . If you want to have further information about this chip, then don't hesitate to write me a letter with a little donation and I'll send you the hint. The advantage of this system is, that it uses much less time than drawing lines and filling them... (!!!!!) So again I'll take this opportunity to write some personal crap about my private life... aslkjhfdlkjhfdsaijd fiiasdf (that's also an important fact!) no, to be serious... this is a story about really nothing than rublkjsfdliiiiiiiiiiiiiiadsuiuiflapsi... I don't know what story I should write, so I'll tell you a joke. What is green and smells like bananas? Monkey vomit! I don't think, that you like this joke. (Or am I wrong.) My situation at the moment is as follows: I'm sitting in front of the computer (yeah! really!) and typing this text (true, too!). Some music is playing in the background. And you are wrong if you think, that it is any kind of heavy metal music. No, it's sound from the 70's and 60's. People who know me, tell that I change my philosphy of life every few weeks and I think they are right. I change my philosopy really often. At the moment sentences like 'make love not war' or 'sex, drugs and rockn roll' are up-to-date for me. But perhaps this will change again...  Do you know to who I'll dedicate this demo? Surely not, but I'll tell you. To Mirjam 'Mimi' and to Catherine. (I'm crazy for you!). These two girls really have the magic touch!!! At the moment the only three persons at my school walking around with white trousers (does this make any sense?) are: Mirjam, Catherine and Orlando...     And next week I'll go in a ski-camp. We are 3 boys and 25 girls. But I don't care a lot about the girls, who visit the camp together with me. Only thing I'm interested in is the train trip. Mirjam and her class take the same train... AMAZING!!!     But in this ski-camp we'll have some fun, because two girls have their birthdays in the camp. So two big parties will take place for sure... I just came back from lunch. And once again I'm forced to write scroll-text for this demo...     'On the beach you can dance to the rockn roll, on the beach you can dance and twist and shout. Everybody come now to dance on the beach...'. That are just some words from the song playing in the background. This demo is the first with the new 'Orlando' style. Better ones will follow... You certainly have remarked, that my favourite color (in british-english 'colour') is BLUE!!! I love it! The black background of every demo is soooooo boring. Blue rules! The BRS graphicans are already complaining about 'my' colors, but I don't care... I want my own style. No more comments...     At the moment it's Monday evening 8 o'clock and I want to tell a story (this time for real!). But first I have to thank all those who read this scrolly till now. You are great! Thanks for the patience with me... The story I want to tell is about a usual day in my life. Normally I wake up at 7 o'clock in the morning and prepare everything for school. I leave my home at 7.20 and go to the tram station. At 7.23 the tram arrives and 3 minutes later I already leave the tram. 2-3 minutes later I'm in front of the school building. Most times Andrew (a guy from my class) is already smoking in front of the building and we talk a bit and then we enter the bulding. 4! stairs upstairs my class-room is waiting for yet another boring lesson. So the lesson starts at 7.40... In the breaks I go downstairs to see all these beautiful girls... Most time I'm waiting for Mirjam or Catherine... Or I just talk with some other people (GIRLS!!!)... You have to know, that there are much more girls than boys at my school. Approximate 80%... ). If Andrew arrives it's always very dangerous (!), because he's the bad behaviour to talk to loud. (He point his finger to some girls and cries (really!) how ugly they are! ('Hey Orlando look at this monster. She looks really terrible!'). But it's always funny. There is a girl at school, we call eagle, because her face looks like this. Another girl looks like an eskimo. But we have also other names for girls (or some of the boys) walking around... Dracula, Bird, Heavy, Pig, Thunderstorm, color pot and others that can't be translated to English. School ends at 12.05 and I go home to eat something. At 14.20 I'm again at school and sitting in another (boring) lessons. School ends at 16.00 or 17.45 and another school day ends here. Now going to a bar, drinking something or going home immediately. Then listening to music, eating, switching the computer on or something else. The evening I leave home and go in town or I stay at home and do nothing extraordinaire...     That's it... a usual day in Orlando's life. (not included are Saturday and Sunday!)...     So now it's Tuesday evening and I will once again use some time of my life to write a little bit scroll-text. So what do you think about the sound playing? You certainly think it's too crazy. But I LOVE it...     So I will describe you the mousepointer I'm looking at. It is a standard (!) red 'commodore' mousepointer. Nothing special...     You certainly want to know why this demo is called the Revenge of Pacman. It's because pacman always ate something in past releases, but now he does nothing than runnig around. So this is really a big change in his life. Imagine that you eat the whole day and then from one day to another you don't eat anything... (!!!!)     I'm crazy, you're crazy, he's crazy, we're crazy...     (I'm crazy!!!)... Insanity rules!!! (I'm not insane!)     So you want to know why I've made this demo? The reason is quite simply the absolute boring scene with demos looking like all others. I've seen now 3243124 Cebit 90 demo clones or the 2093210938 others 'logo at top - stars - scroll below - vector objects' BORING demos. Is anyone really interested to see 2132321 times the same thing? Me not! And so I've done this demo, which I think is very induvidual... (or am I wrong?)  But I guess not many will like it, because it is not normal. But I really don't care...     Ooops it's knocking at the door...     It's Pacman my dear friend (not a guy with the nickname 'Pacman' the real pacman! (I still don't know how he was able to knock at the door. (Or have you ever seen a pacman with arms?)    He tells me that he likes this demo. (!!!) Now he has gone again... So I won't stay in front of the computer anymore (today). In a few minutes the door-bell will ring. And I will then press the button at the left side of our door. Pressing this button forces the door downstairs to open... (A new technology...)?     And then I'll go out for some hours... Certainly better than writing down what I'm going to do, is to do it! So few minutes left to write something. --- Oh it's cold, I have to close the window... Just a moment... Okay, zszszwszszszskshfkdsjafhkjsadf (I just had to write this down.)     Ok, I will now tell you your feelings when you loaded this demo. You guessed that a normal demo will follow, because of beautiful pictures at the beginning. But then... arghhhhhhh!!! This completly mad Orlando has done such a shit...     Well about the title picture... The pictures should force you to load this demo several times... (because you don't load it because of this part!!!) and then there is the contrast between the beginning and this part. This makes the demo even crazier...     By the way did you know, that you CAN'T stop this scrolly with any mousebutton! Blah, blah, blah, bliiiihhhh ....     Hahahahahahhahahhihihii....  Knock, knock knocking on Orlando's door... (Or what was the name of Bob Dylan's song?) I must go now!!! Seeeeee you (tomorrrow!!!)     Today it's tomorrow and I'm still tired because of the last night. Today I'll finish this demo and tomorrow Chester will be shocked if he sees this... He thought that I program an ordinaire headlines program... (Baaaaeeehhhhhh!)     What headlines? headlines?
