Interview
Yo men! Here's Nexus 6 jumping on the keys! Now I want to introduce to the world a megaswapper with hundreds of contacts worldvide. This man was on the first place in the European Top 20 (by Equinox) on THE BEST SWAPPER category with more than 170 votes in May 1993! Look at this interview with this danish guy called SPEEDY / PARASITE!

Upstream: Hi man, please introduce yourself to the readers here in Upstream!
Speedy: Hi pals, this is Speedy da crazy Parasite ready to eat a banana. Hmmm... OK, I am 19 years old. Ehmm.. that's on my disco fake card... OK, I am soon 17 years and a banana swapper - or at least a disk swapper. By the way the number of votes was only 117, but OK.
Upstream: Could you please a few words about your local area/town!
Speedy: Hmm, what to tell? I live on an island in the south middle of Denmark but we have bridges to enter it. I also happen to live in one of the worst towns if you look at the crime rate. Very nice, eh? Here it's kind of boring, but I live in the middle of a town. Pheew!.
Upstream: What is your job? Are you still a "schooler"? What will be your work if you will be not a "kid" anymore? (IF? Are you planning to be a teenager for the rest of your life? -Cs)
Speedy: I just finished school to enter some business school, and I hope to keep my swapping as high as always. Anyway, I wanna be an office dude, Yep, I am simply to lazy to do real work, and papers and computer suits me.
Upstream: As we know, you was voted the BEST SWAPPER in May on the TOP 20! What do you think about it? Are you happy? Are you REALLY the best swapper in the scene at the moment, in your opinion?
Speedy: Ehhh, you can see that I'm at the no. 1 place everywhere. And anyway I think I am the best (Not to be selfish) bcoz I got so many votes and nobody today on the charts have got so many votes. Happy? Yes, ofcoz bcoz it open doors to many cool guys. Like almost everybody will answer a letter from me, even though I have no time to do any anymore, and I can easy get a new group in case of trouble (Could easy break out). Well, it's so cool, and most of my contacts know I love them even that I don't always do big letters.
Upstream: How many contacts do you have?
Speedy: This is a hard question coz a few weeks ago I said 130 contacts to an interview but after being number 1 it sure gives responsability, so next week I might have got 20 more. But, OK I say it: As I have removed lot's of dead, lazy or scene freaks who quit and got I also got many new I have today the 21-07-93 (It's night and has just passed 20-07) a number of 152 contacts. Hmm, I still need 50 to complete my target but about 30 is about to be replaced.
Upstream: I think it must be a very hard job to organize your life with this huge number of contacts! How do you do it?
Speedy: Ha, ha! No, it is not that hard. Coz I hardly never get 10 letters a day and with my hidden swap talents I keep having cool stuff to send. It happens I fail, but when I'll be back after this hollyday, I will be surprised if people have my stuff.
Upstream: Are you using FAKED stamps? If not, why?
Speedy: Nope, here is another thing which makes ME the BEST: I DON'T FAKE. The reason is that they tried to call me from the post office 4 times. Nothing happend to me as I akted like: "Oops, I think I made a mistake". (Danes are just to soft).
Upstream: Are you a modemtrader too? If not - are you planning to leave the mailtrading, and will to buy a FAAST modem? (like as some of the fastest mailtraders, the post is slow, expensive...bla..bla..bla..) What do you think about this tradition, it's now only a fashion, or will it be the way of the future ?
Speedy: If i should buy a fast modem it should be to download cool Children-porno, else I am against it. But when I move I might buy one for fun - NOT TO IMPROVE MY SWAPPING COZ THAT IS FAKE.
Upstream: Oki, now let's talk about something different from the scene topics! What do you think about rascism/fascism? What do you think about this things on the scene?
Speedy: The only one I have met in scene is "Stop fascism". WELL, FUCK I CAN'T SAY SHIT coz I have friends in Turkey and a Chinese pal and well, what to say? Even in real life I have a few friends, but I must say that in Denmark Turks are getting a problem. Too many and Denmark too small. It has ended in gangs and crime around the immigration centers. Else - no comment.
Upstream: Do you have REAL friends on the scene, or they are only persons who send you the hot stuffies ?? In these days there are some articles in the diskmags about the real/fake friendship on the scene. Do you think a "PURE ELITE SWAPPER" have enough time to get REAL friends? (Because to get real friends is not a simple and "shortlettered" thing...)
Speedy: Ehhh, guess I am a Pure Elite Swapper and what to say. Hmmm, if i wasn't this friendly even though I sometimes get a little stressed, then I guess I wouldn't have been writing now.
But my real friends must most be the ones I have been swapping with from the start, bcoz they know me from when I did letters on my typewriter a half page or more to I ended here, where I just answer what I need, and if I have time tell some story or crap. But today I found another way called - Pay-phone...Hi, it's Speedy from Denmark. - But another thing. I am affraid to be like Daryl, etc. I don't know what he have done, but then first populary and then people piss on him.
Upstream: What you know about Hungary? Just 3 words please!
Speedy: Nexus 6 lives there.
Upstream: Are ya planning a holiday this summer? Where?
Speedy: In a summerhouse by the beach.
Upstream: Do you have a girlfriend at the moment?
Speedy: No, my Amiga is better, but I have had and I do make moves... Once a year.
Upstream: Do you have other hobbies, or does swapping totally fill up your spare times?
Speedy: I can do a lot. Swapping takes no time, but I like to have fun with my computer and else I look most TV or make new kinds of junkfood. My swapping only takes a few hours if I don't prepare a total swap-day which is from about 13:00 to 19:30. That's when I have too many letters.
Upstream: OK, back to the scene. Where did you take your pseudoname from?
Speedy: Well, I don't really know... It's only a name I found in lack of something better... I got fascinated by Speedy Gonzales the little comic mouse and I even once called myself the name on the memberlist of Parasite also there is written Speedy (Gonzales).
Upstream: You are a totally LEGAL swapper? (I know your VHS-list he, he..)
Speedy: I am total legal. YES. (My VHS-list is only 29 Tapes and they are most Filmnet, so. Please! Psst - If you want tapes ask my brother, he has more than 200 tapes of new movies only)
Upstream: Please tell us something about your scenecareer from the beginning of yours...
Speedy: Well, I started on the Vic20 making programmes. So I got a C128 and started getting lots of games. Then I had to have a handle as well, bcoz the crackers had. So I got the name Trax but I didn't know how I got it before I saw "SKY TRAX" on TV later on and it was SKYCHANNEL. I moved and put my computer into a box. Then 3 years after I got it out coz a friend said "Why not?" Then The Amiga dream came up again and I bought an Amiga and found better contacts all the time to get the newest games. A guy by a mistake gave me a demo and it was simply so cool: "Mental Hangover". I asked for more and got wild. I entered a few parties and around The Party 1 I found out how to advertise, and I also tried a mag but no answer. Hmmm... So The Party 1 came and I had a seat just beside Legend. Cool pervert guys like me (He, he). Then the 22. January 1992 I got my first answer. COOL, so I made 17 more advertiments. And so I wrote I wanted to join a group in my adverts and VLSI contacted me first, so I joined. Later about 13 more contacted me. Later the "join bigger group"-development got to me and I joined Magnetic Fields. And for fun I also joined Hurricane (Help!) Yep, they where one big lie and when their total fiasko party was over I left (I joined becoz I got a free entrance). When I returned home i had a letter from Magnetic Fields" "Got Modemtraders. You Are Kicked" so: Without group. OK, I renamed to Speedy and joined Quartz. I stayed there long enough to create a Danish division, so I asked Parasite to join us and becoming one. They were at the time 2 Danes. Krueger just joined and they were 3. They had 2 cool musicians. So here I sit and have fun - When the Parasites meet, the town is not safe.

Upstream: What do you think about the new Amiga models like as the A1200? Do you planning change your equipment in the near future? If yes/not.. why??
Speedy: Hopefully i get one next month, but as my friend Hunter got one i also know how little who work on it even with Kick V1.3. So i will both buy the new one and keep my old, bcoz i have soon 2000 disk demos and i will not delete them.
Upstream: There will be a TRUE scene on the A1200/4000??
Speedy: I don't know. Bcoz i guess the A1200 is only a preview of something, as they really can fix things like the 8 sek. reset and no fastmem. Hey it breaks alot. Coz even the New A5000 they work on will have 16 MB Fastmem and will be able to run all back to v1.2. This is only a party computer. And when they can't do a computer all after the Commodore Lines so i do not really like it. Well maybe just a new comes with better reset etc. V2.1 V2.2 Kickstart Whatever. I get one. Coders remember your work.
Upstream: Give us your newest, and BEST joke please!
Speedy: Why do they put shit on the wall in Turkey when some has to be married? It is bcoz-else the flies will sit on the bride. Hi, hi, hi.
Upstream: OK, I think that the sad end of this little interview is here, Speedy. Thanx a lot for your nice answers. At last there are a few lines for you, if you want tell something to the readers! Bye!
