Hello Martyn, let's do a little interview for DAMIANs Diskmag called - THE JUNGLE - .... Ready for take off?? |
| Facet: |
Well.. okay... PS. Do we have enough fuel to fly a little while? If not, then you can contact my uncle in Irak.. He can supply oil/gasoline for the very cheap price of $34 per 100 litres.. Cheap or what... |
| The Jungle: |
Aaah, yes! Now, first of all, please tell the readers something about yourself.. |
| Facet: |
I'm Facet and I do some music on the Gameboy.. naah.. I'm doing gfx... and try to do music.. I am 18 (2-april 19!!). I have a sweet girlfriend listening to the name KIM! I'm going out like every normal sole, I eat the normal menu at Mc Donalds and I do a standard education called Havo/Mbo (exam-year!) I try to mix all these ingedients perfectly. Just to make fun in my life! PS. I also have a drivers-licence and had 4/5 almost-accidents... oi oi oi.. |
| The Jungle: |
Ah, nice (?) and what do you like to do in your free time beside pixeling? |
| Facet: |
Well, like every common guy on earth I like to jump around in pubs go in-town with friends and I like to be with KIM. I listen to real music quite a lot. I'm now reading a lot of lecture for school, For instance, now I'm reading English lecture.. ugh.. It's called 'A kiss before dying' and it's a very easy-to-read book with a great story... Read it! |
| The Jungle: |
When did you start your career and how? |
| Facet: |
I bought my amiga in 1989 and started my 'career' in Vision! I saw great gfx on the commodore 64 and really adored that kind of gfx. I tried to do gfx all the time (still!) And now I claim to have an own style. Meanwhile Vision I joined both Rebels and Absence. After Vision I became and Anarchist! And in the early days of 1993 I became a LEMON.-er! |
| The Jungle: |
What images do you like to draw and what do you hate? |
| Facet: |
I love to draw creatures and faces.. I hate little faces especially around the sizes 32*32... urghhh! These days I like doing logo's with every-character-a-different-style. Look out for my Lemon. logo and my Skid row logo... Both are based on this method! I also love to draw big objects. Like a big Dragon, body, fish, eye... If it's big... It's mine! I try to be as original as possible (like every gfx-er!). |
| The Jungle: |
In - LEGALISE IT 2 - you wrote something about that you are never going to draw a dragon again... is it true, (snief) and why? |
| Facet: |
Well, I think I've done enough dragon-stuff, and so did the scene.. Two years ago one would appriciate when you would see a dragon but now you can't even sell them .. well... I'll maybe do a picture called 'ode-to-the-dragons' or whatsoever... hhmm.. an idea flipped into my mind.. a black screen.. a starting brass- discotune... a pixelstarfield (x-y-z) a cube from left to right.. a 1 color-font (16*16) saying... 'Hi.. we are back...' then everything fades to white... and a picture with a dragon comes up.. then the music stops... and you hear a voice scream 'NOOOOO!!..." (while showing dragon you loaded a new tune) The new tune (very funky) starts and then the REAL product starts.... yes!! A little messase to DAN/Lemon.! Hey Dan did you read that! Good idea for the Legalize it 3-intro? hehe... |
| The Jungle: |
When you look into the - EUROCHART - and see your name on nr. one for the best Grafix, what do you feel or what do you think about it? |
| Facet: |
I feel very, very good.. It's very great you know! But it wouldn't be a real shock seeing my name lower.. I would only think... 'too bad...' And cry for three weeks.. hehehe Well seriously, It's a gerat stimulance for me and I truly adore this status. Not that I am worth that status but I'm not who's in control of that. I'm only the graphician! |
| The Jungle: |
How long do you think you are still going to be nr. one? And how long are still going to do Grafix for the Scene? |
| Facet: |
I don't think I can say for sure.. I never espect to be number one. Ofcourse I hope to be.. but I'm always wondering if I'm still on that position when the Eurocharts are released. One can stay number one by releasing a lot. And realeasing good things. This is not only for graphics. Also for music and coding. I called Quackbuster/STB two times to ask if I was no.1.... Probably some guys will laugh now but I don't care... I'm always curious and I DO like being active... I like making gfx... I know I could spend my time better (girl, school, go out, friend, etc...) but I like doing scene things... Can you blame me? So I will probably go on for some years.. Ok? (why the f*C* did I loose my temper?) Hey Sorem (ACE), I hope you can't predict the future.. and that you based your question on that fact.... oi oi oi... ) |
| The Jungle: |
When AMIGA dies, do you think about buying a new Computer? |
| Facet: |
Ofcourse... but I'll take a little nap for a few months to order myself... But I don't think Amiga will really die.. maybe improved Amiga-machines will continue the scenes-spirit!... I think the scene will slighty fade/morph to the Amiga 1200... It's such an invention... It has so many colors.... gosp! |
| The Jungle: |
What do you think about the new AMIGA-Series? |
| Facet: |
Hhhmmm... I do not know any technical things about them.. but I have heard some news about guys who are really hispy on the new 1200. My brother did allready sold his Amiga 500 and bought a new 1200. I haven't worked on it (he is studying!) so I can't say if it is better.. Maybe I'll buy one when I have money... heheheh... Send money to...

After school, are you going to work for a Computer Company? |
| Facet: |
I don't think so.. I try to keep work and hobby seperated.. Otherwise I won't have a hobby... And that is really shit. Ofcourse I can make my hobby to this job but I will not draw gfx on amiga, or on any future computer when I'm elder and have kids etc. but I cannot give you 100% insuranty. |
| The Jungle: |
Did you get some offers from other Software Companies to work for them? |
| Facet: |
No serious ones, but I did get some offers to do gfx for games.. But I don't really like doing gfx for money(?) I always feel a lot of pressure from that kind of stuff.. and I really hate pressure... With that, I start feeling depressed and I'll get no inspiration then. In spite of all that I'm thinking of making gfx for a software-company this summer. I'm trying to get some summer-work there.. (for an Amiga 1200 and a car!) |
| The Jungle: |
Thank you for the interview... Some last greetinx or messages? |
| Facet: |
Look out for the Lemon-point productions And a biiig sorry for the utturly huge delay I had.. sOp sup sOp....
