The party started on Friday the 26th of June, but we did not arrive before 3:00 pm but as usual nothing happens at a party just after it has started. When we came we were the only members from Majic 12 present at the moment. In the invitation they said that 2000 people would be no problem. Well we wonder if the hall + the other facilities could have been big enough if 2000 people had showed up? It was a bit diffucult to find the place where we were supposed to sit. But after a few hours of search we found our V.I.P room in the schoolbuilding just 40 metres away from the main hall. Other groups that had V.I.P room was: Kefrens, Static Bytes, Parasite, Triangle, Dan-Kit, Spaceballs, Pure Metal Coders, Silents + other more or less important groups, and among them was of course the C-64 lamers. Ha Ha! May you burn slow in hell! Erhm! Let's continue with the report. The classrooms was quite big and there were enough tables for everyone, at least in the classrooms. For us the classroom was only used for sleeping the first 2 days coz we did not have any computers with us. TFG & Mud brought with them some hardware when they arrived the 2 last days. In the mean time we borrowed machines from several nice people. The most common thing about partyinvitations is lying and lying about things that won't appear at the party. For example Virtual Reality machines. Where the heck were they? Had Hurricane put them in their own private rooms? Or had Santa Claus taken them? Well, the most wanted production at the party was without doubt the new Eurochart from Static Bytes. They said they would release it on the 25 or 26 of June at 12:00pm, but no Eurochart got released. Many people thought then that the Eurochart would never be released at this party, but Estrup, Quackbuster and the other guys worked as hell, so that it could be released. And it was sure worth waiting for! Keep up the good work guys. Todays commercial, eh. On the first days there were little or no activity to talk about at the party. But in Static Bytes and Kefrens had their own little football tournament, but we didn't get the chance to have a TS reporter when they played their matches. No injuries reported. Well the hours went by and nothing special happened, except for a whole bunch of local lamers playing games like hell. The most popular games was Pinball Dreams, Jaguar XJ220, Sensible Soccer, Rainbow Islands 2 and a lot of other hot games. Arrgh!!! Like we have said before nothing special happened at this party, until it was time for the grafix competition. The pictures was shown on a screen, made of white sheets! Quite simple, but average good result. But in this competition there were some big missunderstandings with the voting forms and many said that they couldn't see the pictures clearly. So the organizers did a very smart thing. They copied all the pictures which was entering the competition and spread them among the party attendants. It took the space of 2 disks, it went a long time without anything happening while they were copying the pictures. Results will be published in a separate article. After some hours it was time to deliver the voting forms, again. The organizers got in the votes and counted them. The winner was the most talked about person in a few hours after the announcement of the winner, coz many graphicians ment that it was scanned, due to that the artist had used ONLY 16 colours of a chosen 64 colours palette. Since I am not a graphician I can't judge what is right and what is wrong! Now there was some time untill the music competition. People were killing the time with playing games, coz not many things were released. The musicians were working hard with Pro-tracker, just to make their music a little better. The music competition should start at 15:00pm, but first at 16:00pm the first tune blasted its way out of the loudspeakers! The organizers had some problems with running some of the tunes, but it went really cool after all, the hi-fi equipment was OK too, there was no problem hearing the sound! A lot of the music was techno. Well, that is nice if you're a techno fan, but there were about 50 tunes and 75% of them was techno. That gets a bit boring! As written above, there were about 50 tunes, and it took more than 3 hours to listen to them, many guys left before the last ones were played! A pity for them, coz the best ones, after our opinion, were some of the last ones! You can read in another article who won the music competition. Right now the C-64 demo competition is running. Well many Amiga freaks had a good laugh when they saw the gfx-competition, but we must say, some of the demos were quite good! The next thing to take place was the fatestdemo competition. It was really anice idea. There were five contributions to the competition. It was from Parasite, Sanity, Static Bytes, The Silents & Melon Dezign and finally Pure Metal Coders and Majic 12. It was a really cool competition, and it was really amazing what the guys had made in 3 hours. Then after a couple of hours fooling around, it was time for the demo competition. We had really big expectations to the standard of the demos, but as a lot of other times at this party we were fooled. Only a few demos were above average. You can read about the demos and the result elsewhere in this mag. All in all this party was a BIG disapointment. Not much said in the invitatins were true, and the party wasn't half as good as in Aars. The organization was really bad, but on the other hand, some people's behaviour did not help the organizers a lot. The worst thing was the trouble about the voting system. Some hours after the demo-competition, when we left with most others, there weren't announced any winners in the music, fastestdemo, and in the demo-competions. And nobody knew who had won the gfx-competition either, not even most of the Hurricane members. But even though the party was bad organized, you could of course have fun talking to a lot of people! The best releases at the party were: - Video demo for Soulpower by Silents - The Eurochart by Static Bytes - Guardian Dragon II by Kefrens.
