Hello everybody. You are watching the Parallax Demo from: Mirage Int. Dutch HQ.     Before I tell you all about this demo, I have to mention something.. Pixelroutine in part 1 by: PDB     Pictures in this demo digitized by: Jag     Yeah, that is real dual-font scrolling!!!   By the way, PDB made a great codertool called TMT. It is a tool that will create any sinustabel you want!!!   Example: All sinustabels in this demo were made with TMT.     Now some info about this demo.   Right now I used about 30 of the 106 (!!) scrollcodes!!!   You'll have to watch the entire demo to see them all!!   The source of this demo is about 88 kbytes pure code.   That is without the 4 include and 221 (!!) incbin files.   All toghether it was assembled with DevPack2 and crunched with Tetra to less than 125k!!     Do you see that skull up there? Well, this is me (Mel).   Later I will show you some dudes from our local scene, but first... The bobs! They are not just bobs, they are anim-bobs! This must be the slow animspeed.   Speed please.     And now...   High speed.     Too close together???   Step it!   Now in Y-Dir.   Try pressing the left or right mousebutton.  You can stop the sinus that way. It will also stop the text so you won't miss a byte.   Sorry for the shocks while stepping, this routine wasn't meant to be various.     Ofcourse there are some other anims.   Go PacMan!   Jesus!!!   The chips are going mad!!!   They are out of control!! ... STOP!! ... All chips are back to normal now, let's go on with the text, because it's time for a story.   It's about the Amigascene in our town.   Once upon a time there was a streetfighter who called himself Tomcat.   This boy (watch the picture) wanted to be famous so he bought an Amiga.   Then there was another boy who called himself Silverbullet. He wanted to be famous too, so they started to work together. Mirage was born!!!   A talented pixworker from The Hague called Sprite joined the team and the national connection was made.   Ages later some dude who called himsel Mel joined them and bought intern.   He started to code but his sources never worked.   Then he met a great coder called CS and he started to learn all about copper, bitplanes, blitter and so on.   Two other guys joined the team. The first was Retep. He is the creator of Willy, the dude in the sportscar.   The other one is MF'88. He is also a pixworker and he drew many pictures for Mirage.   3 months later the first real Mirage production was born and many productions would follow.   Then another guy joined the team. He is called PDB and coded some very nice routines and the best of all: The Mirage Tool.   Then theres is Ben... He is no member of Mirage but he drove us to several party's (thanks buddy).   The team was perfect, it was just a matter of time before we all became what the founder dreamed of: FAMOUS!   Just when we thought we were complete, some cool German guys approached us. They were in Mirage International and asked us to join the international team. We aggreed and that is what we are today: Mirage International Dutch Headquarters.   Mirage International now has 30 members all over europe and we will soon be worldfamous...     Are you still awake out there??   You better be, bacause in a moment I'm gonna give you the chance to restart the music completely by pressing the joystickbutton.   3... 2... 1... Now!   Sorry, too late! You have to listen to the music at slow speed.    Enough jokes.   From now on you can control the fonts by pressing that same joystickbutton.   This is only temporarily, because I won't let you, if I want to control it myself... (Don't be angry ok?)     Message to all guys who didn't restart the music: I was just kidding about the musicspeed.   Soon normal (??) speed again.   Are you getting bored???   Well, let's fix that.   From now on you may control the entire demo!!!   Here are the keys:   F1 - Decrease X-sinusstep of the bobs.   F2 - Increase X-sinusstep   F3 - Decrease Y-sinusstep   F4 - Increase Y-sinusstep   F5 - Increase animation speed   F6 - Decrease animation speed   F7-F8 - Look at the pictures   F9 - Increase music speed   F10 - Decrease music speed   1-6 - Choose a bob   Numeric keypad: 0-3 - Change font color   4-7 - Change font copper   A-S-D-F - Change equalizercolors   Q-W-E-R-T - Change scrollspeed   Del - If you have to go to the toilet   Help - When you return from that journey     Now, are you still bored???   I inserted these options because I am tired of all the codes in this scroller...     I have to thank Remote Control of R.A.F.   Thanks for the tip man!!    Enough bytes of text for me. Probably from your rom.   (right Peter??)   Anyway, here are the controls again.   What about some tips for starting coders.   Eehhhh... This is an old one: If you want to use the copper below line ff, then place the folliwing wait after the ff-pos: ffe1fffe   If this doesn't work, don't panic. You have to try something like: ffdffffe or ffddfffe (because of bitplane dma)     And now: The way I control the Keyboard...   If you want to scan a key from your keyboard then do as follows: move.b bfec01,d1   (intern still has some errors you know!!)   That move will copy the status of your keyboard to d1.   This is a raw code so you have to convert it to ascii (no you don't, you have to write down the codes of the keys)   Now this works fine with all interrupts on, but if there is no cia interrupt there will also be no keycode in bfec01, so make sure you enable the cia interrupt before you scan a key.   Example: move.w c000,dff09a   move.b bfec01,d1   move.w 4000,dff09a   Now check what key was used and it is complete...     Enough tips. Some time ago we visitd the Bamiga Party. (Were were you, Melly Mel?)   We went by train and when we arrived at "OSS" we started the long walk to the party. (the location were someshere in the wilderness)   When we arrived at the location there was a huge hall filled with Amiga's.   We looked around aand spotted some friends.   After 10 minutes the power went down.   It looked like we would have to get used to this because it happened every 5 minutes...   In the afternoon TC came runnin' to us. He said that there were cops outside. We took no risks and packed the stuff. When the police enterred everybody paniced. People were runnin' and some equipment were smashed to the ground. Nobody was allowed to leave the hall and there was a big change that we were in big trouble. The press arrived and took some pictures. Then the police went... Yeas, they went softy, and we could leave. But 10 minutes after we left the hall, the police started checking everybody and we left in a flash. We arrived at home with all our stuff.   It was a nice party. A little short but good...   Now something totally different... Who has a correct "oktalyzer" routine?? Contact me if you do, we have a version that plays only 4 of the 8 (!!) channels that oktalyzer provides us.     I have to thank A. Sander for this superb program. I think it will be the program of the year!!     Heeey, do you know who the person on the last picture is?   It's... It's... No, I won't tell you, you have to wait until you get our next demo. That will be somewhere next year (a megademo ofcourse!!)   Well, I think there is nothing more to write, so it's time to restart the text. You won't be able to control this demo for a while but, if you have some patience you can control the demo again...   Always remember: Mirage...
