Interview
NOTE FROM THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF: I'm not really sure how much relevancy this interview might have, since REBELS died and Kris joined MOVEMENT. This interview is quite old and we haven't been able to update, but here's an interview with Kris/MOVEMENT anyway...

MagBox: Hello Kris! First of all I want you to introduce yourself!
Kris: Hmmm.. Okay, I'm 17 years old, my birth date is 16.3.1975, the same day as Caesar... I'm really proud of it hehe. I'm mainly a graphician. I know how to code a bit. I'm a trader, too. Lastly I'm the main-editor of the new-comer mag called Eternal... I also have a father called Aladin, but unfortunately he hasn't got a magic lamp.
MagBox: How did you get into the computer world? With what hardware do you work?
Kris: In 1983, when I was 8 years old, I got my first computer: Spectrum 48k it was a nice little machine with 8 colors and nice BEEEEP BEEP!! tunes. Raid Over Moscow and Panama Joe were my favourite games! ehhhm... Then in the year of 1985 I bought the legendary machine Commodore 64. I was really fascinated with 3 canal sound, great gfx capabilities of this machine. I spent some years by playing Boulderdash, Krakout etc. Then I tried to learn 6502 assembler but I failed because there wasn't any source book about this in Turkey. In 1988, I got into the "real" C-64 scene, then I made my biggest mistake and I sold my dear C-64 to buy an Amiga 500. That's all about my computer history. At the moment my equipment consist of: Amiga 500 (Kickstart 1.3), 512k expansion, 1084S monitor, a mightymouse and a joystick. That's all! I'm a real poor guy!
MagBox: Have you been in any other groups before Rebels? And if you have, why did you left them?
Kris: I was in a C-64 rooted group called Accuracy. After the death of the Amiga section of this group, I stayed independent for a while. This didn't last long and I joined Rebels on 2/1992. I'm not a crew jumper as you see.
MagBox: Tell us something about Rebels.
Kris: Hmmm... I think Rebels is one of the groups who build up the Amiga scene. Do you remember the old Rebels demo called COMA? This demo was released in the beginning of 1990 but nowadays you can still see the clones of this demo. For Example the 2nd demo on Prime '92, MENACE by Desire. Even on C-64, there are lotsa clones of this COMA demo (4ex. a demo of Banzai). Rebels affected the whole scene with its great demos and original & funky design.
MagBox: Do you think that there are too many members in Rebels?
Kris: For instance, there are about 50 members in the whole world. But the organization is completly changed and I think there will be a decreasing in the number of members.
MagBox: What do you want to say about the Turkish scene?
Kris: Completly lame. You can easily count the scene members on your fingers. In the whole Turkey there are 2 graphicians, 2 musicians, 2 coders, 5 or 6 swappers and 7 or 8 modem traders. There are some cool guys like Beef/T.K.K, Max, Venom and Obituary/Ministry. But there are also some famous lamers like Bart/ex-Razor 1911, Guclu Ozduman/ex-TRSI, Bardman/ex-Afl and Blaze etc. These guys: Bart, Bardman and Guclu Ozduman are paying for leeching. He he, You are a member of TRSI and you pay for leeching from other boards. These are the usual specifications of a typical lamer. But I think this guy is kicked out of TRSI... The 64 scene is alive, too. The copyright law is not operational in Turkey. And this means, copying illegal stuff, modemtrading etc. is legal. The phone lines are very suitable for modemtrading. One of the Europe's best. No kidding! Turkey is the only Europe country where the videophone technologie is available.
MagBox: Now I would like you to fill the following awards:

Kris: It's great when it becomes real.
MagBox: Have you been to any parties?
Kris: No, because I'm a Turk, I've visa problems with the european countries.
MagBox: What music do you listen to?
Kris: I like nearly all kinds of music but especially these musicians: Jimi Hendrix, Yngwie Malmsteen, AC-DC, Iron Maiden, Vangelis, Jarre... Tekkno is cool too but only when you're in the mood. Rap is...
MagBox: Do you want to tell us anything about your independent mag, Eternal?
Kris: I have to say that Eternal is a Rebels production now. It was quite hard to prepare Eternal. Eternal #1 was good about design, code and music but it's impossible to say the same thing for the articles. Eternal #1 was like an empty box. I hope this will be changed in the future (Hey you reader! don't read this mag, write an article for Eternal!, hehe.. (Okay okay. That was just a childish joke).
MagBox: Thanks for this interview. Any last words?
Kris: Thank you very much for the nice questions. Greetings to all friends! If you want to call me try this number: +90-1-272-2399. Ask for Alp. Good bye!
MagBox: Bye!
