Interview
Interview with Mantronix/Razor 1911 and TIP/Phenomena done by Yankee on the Amega Party.

Hack-Mag: Give us some informations about yourself (age, sex (if u have any!?), height, weight, place of birth, place you are living, school/job etc...)
Tip: Year of birth: 17 years, 178 cm tall, (fe-)male, born in Stockholm, living in Vaxjo (Sweden), currently at High School (studying maths, physics, chemistry and music!). I'm playing the guitar and the drums.
Mantronix: Interesting data: 18 years, 179 cm (hehe!), sex: male (really?), born in Jonkoping (Sweden), 65 kg, living in Kristianstad (south of Sweden), studying maths, physics, chemistry and technology (one year to go!). Did you know that TIP had the grade 4 (out of five) in music?!!
Hack-Mag: Why did u start computing, and when/how did you find out your special talents? (musix) which group did u start making musixs for???
Tip: Sometime... Somewhere... I started music-making two years ago anyway, in a group called Necatrix. (Coool!) (My special talent is really girls...)
Mantronix: I found a book about basic at the library (yes, I wanted to be a coder!). But, a few months after I got my Amiga 500 (Ser. No 1733), a program called "Master Soundtracker" arrived. How coool! The music created in this program could actually be used in demos. So, I started testing it out, and I got addicted after just a few hours.
Special talent? Well, I don't Know what that's supposed to mean, but maybe I should add that I've been playing the piano for ten years. I first made music for a group called "Omikron" (not "Omicron") (three members!).
Hack-Mag: As you are both members of rather wellknown groups and as you both are wellknow as a single person, too, what's your relationship towards lamers??
Tip: Rather wellknown?? Hmm.. Lamers are inevitable. Everyone has been one, and a lot still are.. (No further comments needed). But it's quite disturbing when 'not-good' musicians come to me, asking for critics about their tunes...
Mantronix: Well, I try to be nice to them. Maybe in a few months they have developed into a great musician. I mean, you have to start somewhere, and everyone has been a lamer!
Hack-Mag: Which music do you listen to?
Tip: I listen to all kinds of music with that special 'harmony' in. For example; U2, Depeche Mode, Mozart and Beatles.
Mantronix: Well, I like almost all kinds of music except for country & western, heavy, heavy metal, punk, hip-hop and music for old people. But, I must say that I like instrumental music best.
Hack-Mag: Mantronix, you are working for Maniacs of Noise and you are member of a cracking crew. How can you manage this? (Just think of the situation that Razor cracks a game with your music??)
Mantronix: I can't really do anything about that there are members in Razor cracking games. But, when a game with my music is released, I will make sure that Razor won't crack it. Maybe another group will crack it, but I can't affect that really. My personal opinion about commercial software is that the prices are much too high. But I don't set the prices anyway! I'm satisfied just as long as I get paid. It's just that I'm in Razor because of the groups' demo-'section', not because of the 'cracking'- section.
Hack-Mag: What is your relationship towards other musicians? Who is worth listening to?
Tip: It depends which musicians you mean. The non-active ones (Codex, Firefox, Walkman, Bruno) are/were just great. And I'm a friend to some of them. But the new ones... Some of them have become famous, but they are nothing special. Worth listening to are: Charles Deneen (MoN), Oistein Eide (MoN), Mantronix, Omega, Bruno. People can't separate taste from talents...
Mantronix: I think that most of the musicians in the eurocharts truly suck (TIP: I couldn't have said it better!). I think also (not because I'm in MoN) that Charles Deenen and Oistein Eide are high over the others (including me). So, the guys really worth listening in my opinion are: Charles Deenen/MoN, Oistein Eide/MoN, Tor Gausen (Walkman), Jussi Peitila (Bruno/MoN), Robert Ling (TIP), Chris Huelsbeck, Tim Follin and Jimmy Fredriksson (Firefox). And to add this up: 4-mat (Matthew Simmonds) and Romeo Knight are the most over-rated Musicians ever! People really can't separate taste from talents!
Hack-Mag: TIP, how long time do you use every morning to style your hair??? (He,he)
Tip: I take it as I wake up...
Hack-Mag: What do you both enjoy in the demo-scene??
Tip: I really don't like commenting this, as it might seem slightly 'boasty'... But, I mostly enjoy our own demos. Some skillful graphicians are: Color/Phenomena, Uno and Joe/Scoopex.
Mantronix: Well, things that can be enjoyed in the demo-scene are: Phenomena demos, Walkman music and Uno graphics. Actually I enjoy everything that looks and sounds good. However, these are my favourites. A lot of guys will probably be pissed with me now, but I simply hate the modem-scene!
Hack-Mag: How do you compose?? (Technique etc.) Do you just sit down and compose, or do you just conevert ideas you have to a sound??
Tip: It depends... Sometimes I play the tune (chords etc) on my synth, or I simply play around with samples. Also, some tunes are quite special.. Perhaps I start one in january and then I put it away for a few months. Later I start with that tune again.
Mantronix: All my tunes are composed on synthesizers and then converted into the Amiga. But, I don't midi-sequence!! Also, I choose my samples with great care. I think that the best musicians in the scene will soon reach the top in both quality and musicality.
Hack-Mag: What can you tell to the young musicians?
Tip: keep on practising every day. That's it!
Mantronix: Give Amiga-Music your best, otherwise you can just quit right away!
Hack-Mag: What's your opinion of this party?
Tip: Bad organized..... Met a lot of friends though!
Mantronix: No comments, the music-competition isn't finished yet (hehe!). Still, I've met a lot of nice guys (gays) here. I will surely try to greet all of you in my and TIP's soon-(hopefully)-coming music disc Chrystal Symphonies!
Hack-Mag: Thanx for this interview dudies...
