Interview
Prime: I'm very proud to present an interview with the organiser of Scoopex Sweden: Butch. Okey Hugo, please introduce yourself.
Butch: Hmmm well I do some Modemtrading, and a lot of gfx! and a bit of organizing. But I think I'm going to leave the organizing thing to someone else, cuz it's quite frustraiting! I'm 18 years old, and been computing on and off since 85!
Prime: What groups were you in before joining Scoopex? Why did you change?
Butch: Vaxine, Silents. the other 10 groups I've been a member of are classified! Well the reson why I'm a bit of a crew jumper is because I easily get bored or that nothing happens! But now in Scoopex if nothing happens I got my self to blame because I'm the swedish organizer.
Prime: Tell us about Scoopex! What is happening? Are there any plans for forthcoming releases?
Butch: Yepp! A demo is on the way! And a bunch of cracks (I hope) And we are doing a invitation to Cebit '93 if its not already out when this interview is published! And Slayer, Uno & Firefox/PHA are working on Mental Hangover II. But if they will ever finnish it?!...
Prime: Who are the members of Scoopex Sweden? Have you got a complete memberlist?
Butch: Me(!) - Prospex - Rille - Uno - Invid - Photon - Colorbird - Some1 and Prime.
Prime: How long have you been painting with computers? What made you start?
Butch: Hmm.... I started painting a little on the C-64! But I cant say that I was any good! And I continued on the Amiga! And here I am! And I bought a C-64 a few days ago. I will try draw some stuff on it to! But nothing serious!
Prime: Everyone is interested in what way good graphicians proceed when drawing. Have you got any special way?
Butch: Yeah! I bought a book with fantasy drawings! And then I digitiz them and write: Butch down in the right corner. Not! The only proceedings is the once in DP! I love using Shade to create cracks and stuff!
Prime: Where do you get your inspiration from, when drawing?
Butch: Hmmm.... I usually just play aroud in DP! And if it looks nice... then I make a logo out of it! And if I draw a picture, then I usually get the insperation from a book or magazine.
Prime: I know you have made some graphics for games. Will it be released? Are you planning to make any gamegraphics in the future?
Butch: The game is coming great! I got our new map-editor today! The only thing left is puting the levels together! A Mega Action Shoot'em Up!! And I will do gamegfx whenever I get the chance! I love it!
Prime: You are designing productions too. What do you think is the most important thing in the design?
Butch: The most important thing in a demo is gfx & design! With brutal gfx & design you can get away with any lame routins easily!
Prime: Tell briefly your opinion about these graphicartists...
Butch:
Facet: Very good! But a bit over rated in the charts I think!
Uno: He is one of the best! Many have copied his gfx!
Cougar: His logos are very well drawn! But not that nice looking
Hof: One of my favorites!
Mikael Balle: Hmmm haven't seen that much from him.
Peachy: He should have won in DK!
Duel: WHO? (sorry)
J.O.E.: That TRSI logo is cruel!!
Prime: Why did you chose the handle Butch?
Butch: Hmmm... Don't know! I was about to change name when I found out that it can mean: the woman who plays a man in a lesbian marrige!
Prime: What is your goal on the Amiga (if any)?
Butch: Have phun! and phun is what im having! (and make money on games)
Prime: What do you think about the swedish scene? Which contry has the best scene, in your opinion?
Butch: That depends alot! USA has got the best modem scene! And the demo scene is ruled by us Vikings! (Denmark-Norway-Sweden)
Prime: Do you like Amiga Parties? What is the best one you have visited?
Butch: That depends on the people there and the organizers! I like the old partys better, were there was classrooms instead of a big hall! And I want to send a big fuck to the ex members of Hurrilame for there lousy organizing! and a big thanx to the dudes that organized... - ECES 91 - THE PARTY I & II-
Prime: Are you planning to buy a A1200? Is there a future for it?
Butch: I'm planing on getting one... But I will wait until the new model with a new soundchip comes out (in the summer). But I think the A1200 can be in for some trouble! Like the lack of space at the disks and so! Well we will just have to wait and see!
