The Starlight Project

In January 1988, in the small town of Haslev, Denmark, three friends decided to take up assembly coding on their Amigas. These three friends were Razmo, Mellica and Metallion, and they called themselves “The Starlight Project”. While Razmo and Metallion had some coding experience from the Commodore 64, it was a whole new world for Mellica.

Being a highly productive group, they released Demo Disk I in March 1988 and Demo Disk II in May. As work began on Demo Disk III, Razmo proposed changing the group’s name. The others agreed, as everyone felt that “The Starlight Project” was too long and simply didn’t feel right. They chose the name “Kefrens” — a name that would soon become well known throughout the Amiga demo scene.
