Dexion

Originating on the Commodore 64 (and even the VIC-20, according to their own website), Dexion was one of the leading forces in the early days of the Amiga demo scene. Members like Liteace, Pet, Tox, Tron and especially Mr. Megamind (a.k.a. MMM) were true pioneers, constantly pushing to code new and impressive effects in their demos.

On the musical side, Future Freak gained a lot of respect as the group’s leading musician. However, when it came to graphics, the group somehow always lacked truly outstanding talent. The Norwegian artist Morten was probably their most skilled graphics member, but he was not very productive and eventually moved on to Spaceballs.

And speaking of being unproductive... While Dexion was originally a purely Danish group, they did recruit foreign divisions in both Norway and Germany — neither of which produced anything particularly noteworthy.

During 1990 and 1991, Dexion organized and co-organized several very successful parties, especially when it came to the competitions. Some highly significant demos were released at these events, including both megademos by Budbrain, Virtual World by Tom Soft, Animotion by Phenomena, and of course the legendary Megademo VIII by Kefrens.

At this point in time, swapper and organizer Trix was also a member of Dexion. He would later become one of the main organizers of The Party in December 1991 — the biggest scene event held up to that point.
