THE MELON PARTY Denmark has the reputation of being the country with the best party's. Mainly because of the famous x-mas partys. Unfortunately there have been a few disaster parties aswell. I guess most people remember the Hurricane party. And now Hurricane have got company. Melon Dezign takes the prize for the second biggest failure in the danish party-history. It seemed to be a success. The intro was nice, and so was the promised facilities and the competition-prizes. Furthermore the organizers had taken part in the organizing of The Party I. So it was a promising party. But as you probably know by now, everything went wrong. Less than 200 people showed up. Among them was most of the best danes and a few foreigners. Actually that was nice enough. I mean, who needs a bunch of guys sitting in the main-hall playing games? Well, the organizers! Their budget was not prepared for the few people that showed up. So after one and a half day the party was closed. And that really pissed me off. Taking a trip like that and thereby using a lot of money, and then be almost thrown out! But I can also see it from Melon's point of view. It would not have been nice to loose a lot of money, so that was probably their only choice. Also the competition-prizes were heavily reduced. Actually they were reduced to a pizza for the winner. That resulted in only two introes being released. At the Hurricane party, some stuff was atleast released. Furthermore the cancelled the big screen, so we had to watch the introes on a tv. That was the negative sides of the party. Now the positive ones. Where? No, seriously it was nice that you could easily find the people you were looking for. Another nice thing was a fun night on a local disco. And that's about it. You might wonder why so few people showed up. Well, I think it was caused my the dates. It pretty stupid to make a party in the middle of the week. Ok, the danes had holidays, but still. A lot of danes probably had to work, and the foreigners was in school. So I guess that is the main-reason. Many groups could not handle such a failure as this, but I think and hope that Melon Dezign are strong enough. Their reputation has been damaged, but it was so good that they probably won't have trouble building it up again.
