Majic 12

In the summer of 1990, the two Hungarians Zozo and General Twining, both former members of ILC Crew, formed Majic 12. They quickly gained new members, and when the Norwegian group Gentry disbanded in late 1990, several of its members joined M12, establishing the group’s first foreign division. Over time, additional divisions were formed in Denmark, Germany, France, Sweden, and even Australia.

When the former Gentry members joined, they brought along the diskmag Top Secret. Issues #1–5, as well as the first Majic 12 issue (issue #6), used the freeware GUI, DigiMag, but this changed with the following release. When issue #7 was released in July 1991, it featured an all-new interface along with a fresh editorial team. One of the editors was founder and leader Zozo, who over the next few issues gradually handed over the responsibility for producing the magazine to the Danish division. Zozo continued to contribute as an editor on and off until issue #16, released in December 1994 — the final issue. This last release featured yet another major change: it was written entirely in Hungarian.

By 1994, Zozo had left both the scene and Majic 12, and it showed. The group lacked leadership and motivation. In December, the 16th issue of Top Secret was released as the only production of the year — and the final Amiga release from M12. However, some of the original members had already moved on to the PC scene, where they continued to release productions under the Majic 12 name.
