Animators
Animators was founded by German musician Jeff in late 1989. Originally a member of Antrax, Jeff was soon joined by several others with a similar background. In the final days of January 1990, they released their very first intro under the Animators name.
By March, they had recruited an American division and released the Cooperation Demo to announce it. However, the American members never released anything. Over the years, Animators also had members in countries such as Norway, Iceland, and Belgium.
Their approach to the scene was somewhat different from most groups. They often incorporated humor into their productions, frequently combined with cartoon-like graphics. A good example is the Iraq Demo, which won the competition at the Vision & Mirage X-mas Party in December 1990 and quickly became an instant classic — arguably their biggest success. Also, unlike most other groups, they released a handful of well-produced PD games.
